The Wilkes Company and other property owners in NoMa contributed to the construction of a new Metro Station at New York Avenue. The station is located on the popular Red Line and is now open. A mixed-use development project at 300 M Street – a short walk from the M Street entrance to the station – is currently being designed for The Wilkes Company by architects Beyer Blinder Belle. The 525,000 square foot development will include ground-floor retail, loft-style residences above, and office space for the headquarters of a non-profit organization, government agency or trade association.
