In recent years, The Wilkes Company has focused on large-scale, mixed-use developments in downtown Washington, DC. In partnership with Quadrangle Development Corporation, The Wilkes Company is currently developing Mount Vernon Place, a 2.1 million square foot mixed-use project located between Union Station and Mount Vernon Square. The first three buildings at Mount Vernon Place are now complete.

At the New York Avenue Metro Station, another mixed-use development, 300 M Street, is being designed and will include 525,000 square feet of residential, office and retail space.
