In recent years, The Wilkes Company has focused on large-scale mixed use developments in downtown Washington. In association with Quadrangle Development Corporation, The Wilkes Company is currently developing Mount Vernon Place, a 2.2-million-square-foot mixed use project located between Union Station and Mount Vernon Square. The first three buildings at Mount Vernon Place are under construction. At the New York Avenue Metro Station, another mixed use development, 300 M Street, is being master-planned and will include 650,000 square feet of residential, office and retail space.
